Knowhow
Since the first Xiriton tests in 2005, quite a bit of know-how has been amassed.
Not only the Eureka- moments were important, but also noticing what should sometimes be done….
Xiritones have limits, like all other materials, and certainly many more features than what can be seen on this website.
The recipes and methods so far have first looked at environmental and user-friendliness and what it could mean on a large scale and longer term.
The cost is also important, more than optimising compressive and flexural strength.
I would like to share my passion for this hobby that got out of hand with other pioneers,
who are looking for more opportunities to tackle the climate problem.
Xiriton-knowhow should actually be ‘freeware’…
Right! But unfortunately, there are not only honest people on our earth who know what ‘quid pro quo’ and ‘fairplay’ means.
That’s why there are a few ‘rules of the game’ for those who actually want to participate;
For companies/bodies these are of course ‘business’ and
for the hobbyists, the rules are based on honesty and trust.
By the way, I would rather have 100 do-it-selfers, who can get started without hinderance, than just one construction company, patronised by ‘BouwendNederland’, who prefers to look the cat out of the tree.
Now you can of course start experimenting for yourself (and probably encounter the same problems as we did years ago), or one can take advantage of the experiences gained and save valuable time.
It’s not a ‘rocket science’, but maybe it will also be a new ‘craft’.
